Program: Total Operational Weather ReadinessSatellites (TOWR-S) Time Commitment: 510 hours per week (flexible; hours may vary by week) Appointment Period: JanuaryMay (with potential extension into Summer) Location: Remote / Hybrid (preference for alignment with NOAA/NWS operational environments)

Role OverviewThe TOWR-S Communications & Operations Intern will support day-to-day communications, outreach, and operational coordination efforts across the TOWR-S program. This role is designed to provide practical experience at the intersection of science operations, stakeholder engagement, and program execution, while helping ensure consistency, follow-through, and quality across communications initiatives.

This opportunity is open toundergraduate students who have completed at least their sophomore yearand graduate students, particularly those pursuing or completing degrees instrategic communications, communications, project management, public affairs, or related fields.
We are especially interested ingraduate studentsand advanced undergraduates who are eager to apply communications and project management skills tosatellite imagery, Earth-observing data, and science-to-operations productsthat support theNational Weather Serviceand partner federal agencies (e.g., NOAA, NASA).
Additional requirements and values:
Basic Compensation:
$22.88/hr - $34.28/hr
The offered rate will be based on contract affordability and the selected candidate's working location, knowledge, skills, and/or experience and in consideration of internal parity.
