Working onsite, you will be responsible for managing and responding to work-related injuries and illnesses, providing immediate care, and coordinating follow-up treatment. Your expertise in occupational health will be instrumental in implementing preventive measures, conducting health assessments, and promoting wellness initiatives to enhance the overall well-being of our workforce. By collaborating closely with management, HR, and safety teams, you will contribute to maintaining a safe and healthy work environment, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and supporting employees in their return-to-work process<h2></h2><h2><span class="emphasis-3">Position</span></h2>Occupational Health Nurse - RN (3rd Shift)<h2></h2><h2><span class="emphasis-3">Location</span></h2>USA, Louisville, KY<p style="text-align:inherit"></p><p style="text-align:inherit"></p><h2><span class="emphasis-3">How You'll Create Possibilities</span></h2><ul><li>Provide initial assessment of on-the-job injuries and illnesses and refer for further evaluation as necessary</li><li>Complete initial assessment documentation and initiate medical case records in EMR/Gensuite</li><li>Provide direct care, including treatment of occupational injuries and illnesses and business international travel readiness using established medical protocols</li><li>Coordinate and provide appropriate care, treatment, and follow-up for work-related health events based on knowledge of the specific work environment</li><li>Assess non-occupational illnesses occurring at work, determine the need for immediate treatment, and provide guidance to seek care from personal healthcare providers</li><li>Provide counseling for employee mental health issues and appropriately refer to and utilize EAP services</li><li>Perform health screenings and health assessments and complete all follow-up procedures, trending, and program evaluation</li><li>Provide health-related counseling for employees within the scope of nursing knowledge and practice</li><li>Maintain and safeguard confidentiality of employee health information and health records</li><li>Conduct workplace assessments related to health issues and exposure follow-up</li><li>Provide occupational health surveillance testing, including:</li><li>Pulmonary function testing</li><li>Audiometric testing</li><li>Vision screening</li><li>Other testing as appropriate for employees identified by EHS and industrial hygiene monitoring</li><li>Assist with the implementation of health promotion strategies, including group and individual health education activities</li><li>Participate in safety, HR, and other plant meetings related to medical, health and wellness, plant healthcare costs, emergency response, and other objectives</li><li>Provide site-specific programs (e.g., Health and Wellness Programs) as directed by medical leadership</li><li>Collaborate with EHS to perform Health & Safety Framework elements</li><li>Coordinate training and medical response drills for First Aid Responders, including:</li><li>First Aid</li><li>CPR/AED</li><li>Bloodborne pathogens</li></ul><p style="text-align:inherit"></p><p style="text-align:inherit"></p><h2><span class="emphasis-3">What You'll Bring to Our Team</span></h2><h3>Education & Licensure</h3><ul><li><p>Baccalaureate degree in Nursing (preferred) or Associate’s degree in Nursing</p></li><li><p>Current, unencumbered RN license to practice in the state(s) of employment and practice</p></li><li><p>Certification in occupational health nursing preferred (COHN, COHN-S) or related specialty (CEN, CCRN)</p></li></ul><h3>Minimum Experience</h3><ul><li><p>Three (3) or more years of nursing experience required</p></li><li><p>Five (5) or more years of nursing experience preferred</p></li><li><p>Experience in one or more of the following preferred:</p><ul><li><p>Occupational health</p></li><li><p>Community health</p></li><li><p>Ambulatory care</p></li><li><p>Critical care</p></li><li><p>Emergency nursing</p></li></ul></li><li><p>Knowledge of:</p><ul><li><p>Case management</p></li><li><p>Workers’ compensation</p></li><li><p>Government and OSHA regulations</p></li></ul></li><li><p>Additional education appropriate to the work setting, such as:</p><ul><li><p>Drug and alcohol specimen collection</p></li><li><p>Pulmonary function testing</p></li><li><p>Hearing conservation (CAOHC)</p></li></ul></li><li><p>AED/CPR Healthcare Provider certification required</p></li></ul><h3>Role Requirements</h3><ul><li><p>Ability to make independent nursing judgments</p></li><li><p>Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to prioritize workload</p></li><li><p>Excellent written and verbal communication skills</p></li><li><p>Professional and friendly demeanor when working with all levels of the workforce</p></li><li><p>Basic computer proficiency, including:</p><ul><li><p>Microsoft Teams</p></li><li><p>Word</p></li><li><p>Excel</p></li><li><p>Outlook</p></li></ul></li></ul><p style="text-align:inherit"></p><p style="text-align:inherit"></p><h2><span class="emphasis-3"><b>Our Culture</b></span></h2><p style="text-align:left"><span>Our work is centered on our People and Culture as reflected in our Zero Distance philosophy and we recognize the importance of reaffirming our commitment to inclusion and diversity (I&D).
